Eldoret is a fast growing metropolitan area with a population of over 700,000 people and has an increasing crime rate resulting from this growth. During the recent elections, civil unrest led to many people being killed – most of them Kikuyu – one of the main tribes in the area. The AIDS scourge has also affected the lives of many people in this region. As the greater Eldoret region depends on farming for its livelyhood, the severe drought has led to widespread famine in the region. The crusade will cost US $49,600.
